PCstar Communications's Free In Home Setup Service for Utah Customers

We recently had one of our customers make the comment that it would be nice if an ISP would come out to their home to set up their account for them. We thought about that for a while and came to the conclusion that it might just be a good idea. But no one in the ISP industry does such a thing.  At least until now.

Now we can't very well offer this type of service to everyone in the country.  The air fare would be a real price killer. But we can offer it to our UTAH Customers.  So, as much as we would like to be able to come to your home in Hawaii, Florida, California, or any other really fun place, we can only provide this service to our Utah Customers. (Free from Ogden to Provo, Addiction charges for other area's)

The following is free on the first setup account visit.

Here is what we will do when we come out to your home....

  1. Install  Netscape 4.7 or Internet Explorer on to your computer if you do not already have a current Internet browser.
  2. Install your new dial-up account with PCstar Communications.
  3. Setup your new e-mail account(s)
  4. Test both the dial-up account and the e-mail account to ensure all is working well.
  5. Provide you with a install floppy should you need to re-install at a later date.
  6. Provide brief instructions on how to use your new E-mail and Internet service.

Here is what you need to have before we come to your home...

  1. A fully functional computer, Pentium class,  with Windows 95 or higher.
  2. Functional modem.  Preferably with the latest modem drivers installed.
  3. A working copy of your Windows disk should we need to install any Windows components.
  4. A active phone line hooked up to your modem.
  5. A new account with PCstar Communications.  You will need to order your new dial-up account before we can come out to your home.  To order a new account Click  Here.  The option for In-Home setup is on our Order Form.

Here is what we will not do for free (For Additional Charges)...

  1. We will not fix a broken or malfunctioning computer. We will attempt to make our Internet connection work on your computer but should your computer have issues beyond a simple adjustment we will not attempt to fix it. Refunds will not be issued for the In-Home service regardless if we are able to connect your computer or not. A refund can be issued for the dial-up account if it is determined the user computer will not work.
  2. We will not install anything on your computer that you do not want or need.  We only use the standard Windows components you already have to setup your account.
  3. We will not teach you how to use your computer other than what is directly related to our services.  So if you are looking for help on that new game you just got or that word processor program that just doesn't seem to work, sorry.  We can't help you.

Once we have received your order, either by using our On-Line Order Form or by your calling 801-386-9232, we will contact you by phone to setup a time to come out to your home.  Once you have placed the order we will create the dial-up account and we will charge your credit card the appropriate fees for new services.  Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before our arrival time. Refunds are not issued for the dial-up accounts however a refund can be requested for the In-Home service if made 24 hours prior to our arrival time.
